West Windsor, NJ – It’s time to rock and roll with the Reock & Roll Revue. The popular New Jersey band celebrates the classic rock opera “Quadrophenia” for two performances only at Mercer County Community College’s Kelsey Theatre. Performances take place Saturday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located on MCCC’s West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road.
Known as one of the greatest rock operas of all time, Quadrophenia is the sixth studio album by the celebrated English rock band, The Who. Released in 1973, this double album was The Who’s second rock opera, following the widely popular Tommy (1969). Set in London and Brighton in 1964 and 1965, Quadrophenia captures the social, musical and psychological upheaval of a turbulent and carefree era from the perspective of an English teen.
The Reock and Roll Revue was formed in 2006 and features members and guest performers who have been fixtures on the Central Jersey music scene for over 30 years. With Joe D’Angelo as guest lead vocalist, members of the six-piece band are Tom Reock, of Hamilton, on keyboards and vocals; Chris Grace, of Hopewell, on bass and vocals; Jerry Steele, of Princeton, on electric guitar, guitar synthesizer, banjo and vocals; Mario DiBartolo, of Hamilton, on lead guitar and vocals; Michael White, of Hamilton, on drums, percussion and vocals; and Bud Belviso, of Hamilton, on acoustic guitar and keyboards. This show will also feature a very special posthumous, videotaped performance by Joey Caprio (aka Joey Sessions) as "The Bellboy."
The band has performed a diverse and eclectic mix of original, well-known and lesser known rock material including the Beatles’ White Album in its entirety, to multiple sellout crowds. The Revue previously performed Quadrophenia in 2009 to critical acclaim.
Tickets are $20 for all. Free parking is available next to the theater. Tickets may be purchased online at http://www.kelseytheatre.net/
